This year we are trying a new concept.
It came from an idea to get more balloons in the air especially on weekends
After the first event on the May 2-3 weekend we will award prizes and work out any bugs
that may have surfaced "extended time, 3 weekends inclusive of the weekdays"
We want this to be a fun competition and we will try to make it fair for everyone.

Here is some of the information and some of the rules
Every pilot who holds a valid Canadian Balloon License is eligible
"Flights can be done anywhere in Canada"
Friday Evening flights will be allowed and considered a weekend flight
Commercial pilots can enter but they are restricted to 5 entries regardless of how many flights they accomplish.
All other pilots can enter all the flights they want
Flights must be done, we may ask for proof that flight was taken
You will have 24 hours from sunday midnight to enter your flight

We will pick a "task" on the given weekend
July 24 -Aug 9 will be a combination of Distance and Time
On the submission form http://www.grandeprairiehotairballoon.com/Remote.html
there will be coordinates for takeoff and for Landings. There will also be a spot for time in the air.
A combination of time and distance will be used to calculate a score. Highest score will win.

A password will be used on the submission form. This password is intended to weed out spam
the password for July 1 - 19 is "wowthiisfun"

Please do not try to "fix" or mess with any of the components. Any misuse will result in immediate suspension
from more entries. Use your real name on the submission or it will be deleted. Submissions are email based and will
not be for public viewing. Only 1 entry per balloon per flight. Do not submit each flight more than once.

The procedure is quite simple
1. Go for a flight on the time period mentioned
2. Enter your Time in Minutes.
3. Enter your takeoff and landing coordinates

5. Click submit
6. Wait for the results, they will be posted on http://www.grandeprairiehotairballoon.com/Remotezultz.html
The results may take 48 hours to compile.
